I guess you may be wondering how things are going on the trip planning front?

Well……………..

I booked my flights last week and handed in my notice at work, with my last day being 8th July and fly out to Vancouver on the 16th. So now it’s all go, with sorting out storage for my stuff, applying the USA temporary motorcycle importation docs from the EPA.

I’m also please to advise that ‘Blondie’ is back together and running after Mr Grubbles from Sandeg Autos and Café, fixed up the petrol tank. Although I need to go for a couple of long runs to make it’s running all good.

Oh I was chatting my colleague Cass from work, she’s Canadian by the way. When she said ‘You really need to watch out for cougars and bears when camping in Canada’,

‘Cougars’?  I asked before adding with a cheeky grin ‘But I’d thought I’d be safe being 47 years old?

Duh’ or words to that effect was the reply, before informing me that there are black bears (can be quite aggressive), brown bears (curious before eating you) and grizzly bears (unlikely to see one of these).

Hmmm something else to think about and after watching a woman on YouTube, spray a bear with mace, only to then watch it destroy her canoe, I’m thinking I don’t really want my bike eaten or trashed.

I need to have my bike crate made up 1st May as the bike and gear needs to be in Auckland, no later than 24th May. I also need to sort my personal stuff out that I’m shipping over to the UK as well.

The tech side of things, I think I’ve got a handle on and my website should be live this week.
