I had my leaving NZ drinks on the Sat just gone and it was a bit sad to say bye to friends and ex colleagues.
I have to admit, it’s been a lot more involved than I had anticipated. Getting the bike crated, transported from Chch to Akl, then shipped to Vancouver before having to clear customs and the associated paperwork.
I have to give a big shout out to Phil Gibbs at GT International freighting, who has only ever told me, what he can do for me, to smooth my way during this process.
Steven (AKA Mr Grubbles) for putting me in touch with Jim in Vancouver, who is being invaluable in regards to acting as my importing agent, so my bike will be ready for me, when I arrive. Without his awesome help, I would have been faced with arriving on the 5th, then spending the 6th, trying to get all the paperwork stamped etc, so the bike could be released.
Hell of a lot more to do, when you’re not coming back straight away too! I’ve got a Mastercard cash passport, which you can pre-load with different currencies etc, so that’s very handy. Still need to sort out bike insurance over there.
Umm what else? Need to finish packing house up, transfer files on pc, update will, power of attorney etc, phew!!
